How To Make Pom Poms

Pom Poms

Things You Will Need: Pom Pom maker, string, scissors.

Pom Poms can be made as big or as small as you want them to be. Plus you can use just about any kind of string or yarn that you like or that you have on hand.

Here are the instructions on how to make the pom pom maker used in the demonstrating pictures.

Step 1:Wrap the yarn around your pom pom maker as many times as you like. The more times you wrap it around the thicker and fuller it will be.

Note: If you're making more than one you'll want to keep track of how many wraps you do to make sure they are all the same thickness.

Step 2: After the desired amount of wraps have been made, cut the string.

Step 3: Cut a 5 or 6 inch string and tie it around the center as tight as possible. DO NOT make a double knot at this time.

While pressing down on the knot in the center cut both the top and the bottom ends of the strings.

Step 4: Now you will be able to tighten the knot and make a double knot to secure it.

Step 5: Fluff and trim any excess ends.

Note: Make sure not to cut the string used to tie the knot in the center. This is the string you will use to attach the pom pom to your project.
