Matching Hat and Scarf

Material: Red Heart Comfort.
Hook size: J-10/6.00MM
Gauge: Measures 2" over first 2 rounds of hat.
Finished size: Fits average adult.

To make the hat:

Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in each ch around, join with sl st.

Rnd 2-3: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in each esc and each ch around, join with sl st.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in first 3 esc, *(esc, ch 1) twice in next esc,** (esc, ch 1) in next 3 esc, repeat from * around ending at **, join with sl st. (20 esc)

Rnd 5: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in first 4 esc, *(esc, ch 1) twice in next esc,** (esc, ch 1) in next 4 esc, repeat from * around ending at **, join with sl st. (24 esc)

Rnd 6: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in first 5 esc, *(esc, ch 1) twice in next esc,** (esc, ch 1) in next 5 esc, repeat from * around ending at **, join with sl st. (28 esc)

Rnd 7: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in first 6 esc, *(esc, ch 1) twice in next esc,** (esc, ch 1) in next 6 esc, repeat from * around ending at **, join with sl st. (32 esc)

Rnd 8: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in first 7 esc, *(esc, ch 1) twice in next esc,** (esc, ch 1) in next 7 esc, repeat from * around ending at **, join with sl st.

Rnds 9-15: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) in each esc around, join with sl st.

Rnd 16: Sl st into each ch and esc around. Fasten off.

Matching Scarf

Ch 140, or any even number to make it longer or shorter.

Row 1: Esc in second ch from hook, *ch 1, sk next ch, esc in next ch, repeat from * to end. Turn.

Row 2-11: Ch 1, esc in first esc, *ch 1, esc in next esc, repeat from * to end. Turn. Do not turn ar last row, continue with edging.

Edging: Sl st evenly around. Fasten off.
